Wildlife photography, especially birds in flight, is one of the most challenging forms of image capture. I am continually challenged by the ever changing environmental conditions, as well as by my subjects, who seem to rarely cooperate.

An Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is about to alight on a dead tree in the Atchafalya National Wildlife Refuge. Osprey eat almost exclusively fish, and take fish within three feet of the water’s surface. Several pairs had nests atop trees in the lake on this photo expedition.
